Jack of Diamonds
“Jack of Diamonds” was the first Russian avant-garde art movement and was founded in 1910 on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition combining Western European and Russian art. The Russian artists were spellbound by the new Western European trends in art such as Post-Impressionism, Cubism and Expressionism, which, according to them, exuded enormous passion and energy. Cézanne in particular, was a great example to them. The wildest stories abound about the origin of the name “Jack of Diamonds”. In any case, the diamonds were used as the basis for this collection of jewelry consisting of a necklace and earrings.
